Apple’s Next Hardware Wave May Have Just Leaked — And the iPad Mini 8 Looks Especially Interesting
Apple may have accidentally given away part of its next hardware lineup.
Images and references reportedly discovered inside Apple’s own code point toward three upcoming products: the iPad mini 8, HomePod mini 2, and a new Apple TV 4K. None of the devices has been officially announced yet, so the details should still be treated as leaks rather than confirmed specifications.
But there is enough information in the leaked material to make the upcoming refresh interesting — particularly if you have been waiting for Apple to update its smaller devices.
The iPad mini 8 could be the biggest change
The most interesting product in the leak is arguably the next iPad mini.
According to the reported Apple code, the iPad mini 8 could move from the A17 Pro to Apple’s newer A20 Pro chip. That would represent a substantial jump in processing hardware for Apple’s smallest tablet.
But the processor isn’t the only change.
The leaked images appear to show the front-facing camera moved to the landscape edge of the tablet. That is a relatively small physical change, but it makes sense for people who frequently use the iPad mini for video calls while holding it horizontally.
The leak also appears to show a speaker opening near the top of the display.
And this is where things get more interesting.
Previous reporting has suggested that Apple could be working on an OLED display and improved water resistance for the next iPad mini, potentially using a vibration-based speaker system. Those features are not established by the latest leak itself, however.

The current leak doesn’t provide enough information to answer that.

The latest leak reportedly contains an image labeled “Apple TV 4K (4th generation)”.
Interestingly, the design doesn’t appear to change dramatically.

Individually, none of these products sounds revolutionary.
An updated small tablet.
A refreshed smart speaker.
A faster streaming box.
